Activities at Broomley Grange

Broomley Grange offers a wide range of activities for you to enjoy during your stay. We are able to provide many of the activities on site. However, we can also offer some specific off site activities such as Canoeing, Kayaking, Caving, Gorge Walking, Rock Climbing, Hill Walking & Mountaineering at different locations such as Peel Crag, Great Wanney, Tyne Riverside Country Park, Tyne Bottom Mine and Ashgill Gorge.

All of our adventure activities are licesensed by the Adventure Activities Licencing Authority (A.A.L.A. Licence ref.  L6633/RO228)

The activities at the Grange fall into three categories :-

  • Ad-Hoc - Baseball, Chess, Cricket, Draughts, 5 A-Side Football, Nature Trail, Orienteering (on-site), Pool, Rounders, Scavenger Hunt, Short Tennis, Table Tennis, Tennis, Tunnel System & Volleyball.

  • Supervised - Archery, Assault Course, Bouldering Wall (2008), Climbing Wall, High Ropes Course, Night Line, Play Parachute, Rope Confidence Course, Problem Solving, Tree Climbing & Zip Wire.

  • Organised - Abseilling (both on and off site), Climbing, Caving & Gorge Walking.

These are defined as :-

Ad-Hoc = no specialist supervision required. Groups usually run these themselves.

Supervised = only available with experienced trainers / instructors.

Organised = only with fully qualified and experienced instructors.

All of the outdoor pursuits at Broomley Grange sre supervised by a team of qualified and experienced instructors . All of the equipment you require for the activities such as helmets, harnesses, ropes etc., are regularly checked and replaced in accordance with nationl guidelines.
