Mine Exploration
We use local mine systems such as Tyne Bottom and Smallcleugh mines. Trips into these mines can be tailored to suit your adventureness (anything from 1 to 4 hours underground!).
We use highly experienced leaders who can offer a great wealth of knowledge.
The mines are close to Ashgill where we do gorge walking, so why not make a day of it... mining in the morning and gorge walking in the afternoon!
Rock Climbing and Abseiling
There are several ideal group crags near Broomley Grange including the Great Wanney at West Woodburn, East Woodburn crag and Peel Crag on Hadrian's Wall. You can easily spend the whole day climbing, abseiling, bouldering and weaseling (crawling underneath boulders).
Ashgill Falls is an ideal location for ghyll scrambling and gorge walking. Abseil down Ashgill Force waterfall, jumping into deep pools, scrambling and sliding the shallow areas between them before finishing up with a challenging climb up a waterfall. This is an exhilarating experience for anyone no matter how old you are and is an exciting day out.
Kayaking & Canoeing
Kayaking and canoeing can either be done on a lake or river, depending on experience levels. Broomley Grange is situated very near the river Tyne.
We can offer various courses at different locations for various levels of ability. Including the purpose made course at Hamserley Forest
