We’re pleased to confirm that Broomley Grange will reopen to day-only guests for outdoor activities on Monday 7 June.
As well as visitor favourites like the zip wire and Jacob’s ladder, we also have a new twin tree climb activity for you to enjoy. Staff and trustees have been working hard since January to make sure the grounds and structures are safe, tidy and looking great for welcoming visitors back. COVID safe measures are in place and we’ll continue to review them alongside government guidance. Work to refurbish the house continues and will be open to residential guests later in the year. The Board of Trustees are excited to announce that we have been successful in securing funding from Community Foundation Tyne and Wear & Northumberland, to invest £2,000 in upgrading our telephony and internet infrastructure.
The Board of Trustees have appointed Connexions Group Ltd as our exclusive partner to carry out this project. The project will see the introduction of FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) fibre optic broadband, this will provide our guests with faster internet connectivity throughout the Grange, as well as enhance our capability to introduce more web based services over the coming months. In addition to this, we have received a donation worth over £200 from the 18th Gateshead Boys' Brigade Company of brand new WiFi Access Points to replace the aging infrastructure that has resulted in loss of wifi access in some parts of the house. We will be announcing as soon as all of this is up and live, but we hope to have this live within the next few months. Everyone from Broomley would like to say thanks to Community Foundation, Connexions and the 18th Gateshead for their support and donations toward helping us make our guest experience even better and fit for the 21st Century. |
